Looking for SWB for about £5k. MK6 or MK7?

Hi guys,

After my MK5 has me hemorrhaging money at an alaming rate I've decided to get something newer,more reliable and something which doesn't constantly need welding.

I have about a £5000 (max) budget and am pretty sure it's still a Transit I want for engine reliability and space compared to similar vans. I want a SWB (crew cab is an option) and I do a fair few long motorway and back of beyond journeys for work as well as using it to transport tools, push bikes and people at weekends. Not sure this counts as heavy loading to be honest but it does run up and down hills for a few hours at a time.

I'd also like the boot lid style if possible but not necessary.

Should I be looking at MK6's (possibly the ex RAC ones fit the bill?) or can I afford a MK7?
