can any one tell me if this is a good buy 52 plate hitop lwb 2.4 rear wheel drive 75ps £1800, is this a good reliable engine or not its done 180k just had a new clutch got some history seems to drive ok,
not sure what the 75ps means or if its a tddi or a tdci engine or whats the best reliable unit to buy,
whats the common problems with these vans engines etc,
i dont mind if its slow as i just plod along any way,
dont want my first new shape to be a money piy, cant seem to find a 2.5 di near me in good condition..

75ps is TDDi and was only available in the 2.4 version for the first few years of Mk6 production, unpopular because its slow and gutless, It will come with a 5.13 diff which means it will be working hard at motorway speeds.
As its a transit you need to check for rust, also listen for any rattles immediately after start up, could indicate timing chain problems, check that the glowplug light illuminates briefly upon startup, but that it goes out and doesn't start flashing, this indicates engine mangement faults, if its been well enough maintained it should be okay, but like any 9 year old motor thats done 180k miles, you pays your money and takes your chance
