Ive been to Dunton a couple of times, once with the Cortina MK2 Owners for the lanuch of the 1600E Orion with my friends Cortina 1600E which was used in some of the press releases, also and saw the prototype Escort RS on a suspension test bed.
One of our committee members worked there, so as chairman of the Club at the time, used to get invited to provide cars at events they had, which I pulled rank on and went along too... Also went to a employies open day and was taken out in a MK4 transit which the test driver took up on two wheels and not on purpose... :o
Also got to borrow some of their test Transits, which I think were later used for the police, 2.9 cossie i think. Sorry I have had to delete most of this as it may get someone in trouble

Cortina MK 2 was already in production then.
quote from their site, Ford Dunton went on to develop all-time favourite vehicles such as the Fiesta XR2, Escort Cosworth and Sierra XR4x4 performance cars, as well as more practical classics such as Ford Granada and Transit models. Copyright Ford Motor Company.

Im glad to say it wasnt quite as ugly as that :?
