That's really a shame! First investing much money and when it came out of fashion then scrapped! :( Must be the fate of most british typical 70's customs!

Thanks for your info, Mark! :) Is this magazine still available or has publishing ceased? Here we had a magazine called hot car, too! But it's no longer available since more than ten years! :( They featured customs like this and otherwise hot rods and street machines! Perhaps it was the same publisher, but don't know!

I too remember this van when they did weekly articles on its build in (Hot Car?) Remember they wanted a transport theme that encompassed all types ,hence the murals . Interior was black carpeted I think . P'raps a transport theme cos it was sponsored (BP Stickers on sides) ???

I'd call it a mild custom! :)

To me "mild custom" in case of vans means a subtle look, no flares, sidepipes, etc. so I might say without changing the factory shape! Modifications include wheels, paint job, interior and maybe lowered suspension!

So a "custom" defo should have extensive body modifications!

But "custom" is also the generic term, so might be confusing!

In case of the interior of this one: Maybe somebody still has the old "hot car" issues and might be able to put the pictures or even the whole story behind it on here!
