Yes, you are right.
When we did the smiths crisps competition transit, we had to glue the porthole windows on, as a decorative piece, as we were not allowed to cut into the bodywork. :?

When I worked at A&L autos, back then in the 70's, there was a large interest from proffesionals and famous people who wanted to get on the bandwagon, so to speak.
I can remember answering the phone there one day when the boss was out, and the caller said this is blubberwabberwaffle, I wonder if you casn custom paint a van for me.
He said his name in a manner that was not a vainty thing, like he thought he was famous, but just wanted to get it in subtley.
I siad who did you say you were?
He repeated his name, a few times, as I asked him twice, but even when I finaly got it, it meant nothing to me.
Anyway, I gave a quote and some ideas of murals/flakes/candy apple etc, and he went.

I went back into the workshop, and related the convo, and someone filled me in as to who he was.

When the boss Alan Llewelyn returned later, he asked if the were any phone calls, I siad yes, Eddie Kidd called, but I dont think we are gonna be painting his van!!! :D

Some month's later I saw Eddie Kidds van, it had been painted by Mechspray in kent. :?

yeah might have to put some marker lights on the side like he has so you can see the light from the side - might need it to get throught the mot
i did have an idea you could have frenched lights mounted on 12v solenoids so when you power the light it moves it out of the recess so it can be seen from the side

i think the way to do this is as long as you have a red marker on the rear side and a indicator repeator on the front wing you should be ok .
ive got a set of red volvo estate rear side markers for on mine
