If I'll buy it, I'd restore it myself and drive it myself, not thinking of selling it, perhaps only if I lose my job  But till now, it's not my car, so you can still buy it... :)

These SWB pre-facelift MK1s are almost impossible to find in Germany :( ! There are only three known in Germany! Feuerwehr Transits may be somewhat special in the UK, but here they're a common sight, these not! And it's even a delivery van, not a bus! That makes it much more rare! Most of them here were scrapped after a maximum ten years using! So this is a piece of history to save, before they're all gone! And I always loved the looks of these SWB MK1s

And even the steering wheel is on the right side!

Yep, if Aki tells me the exact location and if it's still available, I'd go for it! :D

Perhaps the british Capri guys have the right bits, as far as I know the same engine appeared in the british MK1 2000GT! I know Corsairs are rare in Britain!

Quite honestly I think you would be better off looking in Germany for the parts, it's a bigger country and by the law of averages there are probably more parts left where you are than in the UK!

But Germany isn't Transit country, even there were/are so many in fire brigade use, MK1 and MK2 Transits have some kind of bad reputation here! :( Many stupid germans say it's a car only suitable for turkish foreign workers :x , and "you have to buy german", so classic vans in Germany with good spares availability are only VWs and Mercedes, but less Transits! The Essex is even a more big problem here, as german MK1s had german built V4s and the only V4 Essex available was the 2.0 between 1971 and 77, but only in very small numbers!
