TRANSIT PILE

Postby FredTransit » Sun Oct 02, 2005 10:40 pm

This was sent to me by sixwheelphil ages ago. Twice. Like it wasn't bad enough the first time. Only funny if you don't like transits. If so WHY ARE YOU HERE?

Image

I think the drivers of these two used to work for me.........

Look at the top of the box, passenger side. I reckon the Mk3 was caning it along the road, tried to squeeze between the Mk2 and the grannie (tina?) and the top corners of the bodies collided, pushing the Mk2 into the lampost.

The large amount of damage on the Mk2 and less on the Mk3 says to me the Mk3 was moving (so quicker, less contact) and the Mk2 was stationary and the impact stffed the Mk2 into the lamppost, toppling the Mk3. Remember, I have experience with overhead damage.....And people, come on, where is the simpathy for the transits? Eh?

Shouldnt matter how fast he is going - Newtons 3rd law "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction" - remembered something from phisics at school  But i think you are right the mk3 clipped the mk2!!! its just they build mk3's better!!! or its probly a stronger point on the front of the luton!!!
either way he was going some just look at the lampost!!!

If the Mk2 was parked on the kerb, it would throw the top of the body into the road, so only the top corners would come into contact with each other. Most Luton bodies are made exactly the same today as they were 20 years ago, wooden floor, ally framework, ally skin, translucent fibreglass roof. Ally bends easily when it's whacked, as I already said I would know.

Ah but surely you also remember Newtons 2nd law which states that the relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma.
