I would gladly give £200 for this van and put her back on the road but how would I get her back from London, anyone help?

Have you read this thread?

Mate im sure there's somone on here with a spec lift that could legally tow it back other than that use a ridgid bar or a A frame!

Would have to come down to cost on the recovery side, as you can see from the pictures it needs work and plenty of money spending on it, if a cheap way of recovery could be reached I would have it.
Is the early Mk3 like the Mk2 in parts? was thinking, pick up a Mk3, take the running gear out of that a slip it to this van to speed the resto on, after some welding, glass and a blowover it would begin to look like it should once more

Dunno what's going on with this but had a guy come up to me in the pub last night to say that Ford had found it. Does this mean Ford are going to do something with it? Will we be seeing it in the Ford heritage collection?

First I have to say i have seen the van and have to say it's a big job but dooable. The scuttle panel needs complete replacment for a start. As for changing the running gear I would go with what it's got (Granny i think) but I think the axles need proper securing as it wasn't meant to be road going. As I think I said in another post, if youfind a flatbed or spec that can handle a LWB, it will take 3001 easyly.
MrMP, Peter knows where the van is and has seen it. Could he have finally persuaded Ford to take her on? Hope so.

I knew that Peter Lee knew where it was, the only reason I ask is wondered how the guy in the pub knew, his Dad worked in the factory many years ago so i'm sure he still has contacts. It just seemed like an odd thing for him to come out with out of the blue, as if something was going on with or as if it had been in the Ford news letter or something!

Nearly a year has gone by since this van came back to light. What's happening?

any news ???? :D
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.
