This I once desired...

Postby aki74 » Sun Jan 22, 2006 7:49 pm

...and still would if it was still alive. I asked the owner twice to sell it to me but no, it was not for sale. So it stood there in quite complete condition for a couple of years until some kids broke all the windows, lamps, meters and dash etc. And then it stood there for a couple of years more until it was scrapped.
I have some dislike to owners of old cars who just let them rot and won't sell no matter what. I had the same thing with one VW Beetle with split rear window (early 50's). I asked to buy it for restoration for about 15 years ago and it still stands on same place. Not for sale. For what then!!!

This was an old military van, owned by the "catering". They sold coffee, muffins, candy etc. to soldiers during longer excercises and camps (it was always the highlight of the day/week as I remember it) All the shelfs and sales-hatch on the side were still intact. Also the extra seat for the sales lady was there, behind the driver.
I wanted this for our band as we always had to borrow someones car to get things transferred. I ended up buying my own much newer van and forgot this one completely until I recently found this old photo, taken some 12-13 years ago. I quess I have had a deep desire for a Transit all these years. Luckily I got one now!

Yeah! Calendar! :D This topic had somehow passed me. I've been doing our house renovation and at the office I've had too much going on to surf properly  But anyhow, I just ordered the calendar!
