just picked up a motor from southampton docks, while i was there i saw this:

first time ive seen a transit without a fixed chassis under the bed.

I think it's great but whats the advantage over a standard tilt bed with long ramps
surley that would have cost a fortune when new, with all the engineering work thats gone into it!!!

This one was on the Backbone cruise.

I dont think the one on the backbone cruise had a hinged chassis, I think it had airbag rear suspension to lower the rear end. edit looking at hat pic it must be hinged as there aint no where for the wheels to go

O yes she bent in the middle the same but it did have the airbag suspension as well!

Interesting front wheels he has. Looks like low profile tyres and lowered suspension.

they run on some really wide tyres i think there something like 255 if you look closely there is a piece of rubber or something similar that extends the flare of the front arches

it looked like the front wheels were deeper dished than normal too
