my transit exactly how i found her last sunday

Postby studley73 » Tue Nov 16, 2010 6:41 pm

well here she is my mk1 1969 transit still with the 2.0 v4 in it. exactly how i found her suprisingly straight considering main bits it needs is bonnet, both front wings have gone along the edge by the doors the back doors have started to go along the bottom edges. it has no brakes wot so ever as the master cylinder is knackered and its non servo, was thinking about putting a mk2 servo and master cylinder on it but dont know if its possible tbh

she has had wait for it a camper interior out of a commer fitted to her in the 70s but i dont know if to leave this in or turn her back into her natural mini bus state this aint gonna be easy i know but i wont let it beat me

nice project 8) 8)

the mk2 servo will fit (sort of) but the early mk1 bulkhead* is different so its not a neat fit - almost worth going for a mk4/5/6 one and modernising it all :D

*check it does have the early bulkhead tho :!: - do the pedals come through the floor :?: it's got a few mk2 bits on allready :D

hello, this is nice and a bit rare as it appears to be a PSV (public service vehicle) as it has a destination blind on the front, does it have a makers plate on it? ive got a psv brochure with a pic of what your van might have looked like - link below

i know exactly where your coming from with this one yes you may have a lot of work to do but itll be worth it in the end
mine had been standing for 9 yrs when i finally got hold of it
been a 69 lwb bus its quite rare
good luck with it .
you didnt say where your from
if its got tits or wheels its always gonna end in trouble !!!
anyone can restore a van but it takes a real man to chop it up !!!
