Plywood Bulkhead

Postby Lee J » Wed Sep 21, 2005 11:28 am

2001 Y Transit 350 LWB (new shape)

My tranny is a 6 seater. I want to ply divide the back end from the 2nd row of seats. I want to do this from where the side door slides back to.

What is the best way to fit this big sheet of plywood? I need to know how/where to fasten it to the van. Im not that technical so speak slowly.
Transit Van - Gonna cost me a marriage if I'm not careful.

Ive just fitted one to me mates mk5 semi high! i used 4mm thick ply! think it was 8'x4' only it wasn't high enough to reach the roof!! (but i left the top clear for ladders etc.)
i made a metal bracket for the centre out of 25mm box and screwed the edges into the ply boarding that was allready there using small angle brackets!
i measured from the centre up at 100m intervals all the way up and transferred this onto the ply (and added a bit) cut out the rough shape, so it would actually fit in the van then neatly fitted one side, then planed it down to fit the other!!
Then run some no-nails up the edge to make it look neat!! :D

Hope this helps :D
