HELP PLEASE!! Speedo advice for a newbie...!

Hi all!

Have just bought a Tranny MH and got a problem with the speedo. When doing 30 it shows 20, when doing 50 it shows 65!! And so on...! Obviously not that great for speed limits... and speed cameras!

Is there anything we can do? It had a newer gearbox fitted during the summer ~ could that be causing it?

It's a 1987 D reg 2.5 diesel.

I'd take it back to the person that fitted the gearbox as it sounds like it's got the wrong speedo pickup in it.

Is there anything we can do about it - or a local garage? We bought it privately in Wales but we live in hants. everything else is ok but obviously that one was a bit difficult to check.
