Mk3 electrical issues

Hey guys,

My '94 Di is starting to go a bit loony, think it's got scared staying outside during halloween!

Everytime I press the brake pedal with the headlights on, they nearly go off then come back on again.
Operating the wipers does similar things but not as bad.

On one ocassion, I hit the breaks and the headlights went out completely, turning them off and on again sorted it.

The battery connections are clean and tight and it's otherwise fine... any ideas?!

Sounds like a bad earth somewhere to me.

thats what you get for hitting that brake pedal,its just dead weight man,get rid of it

Yeah I really shouldn't use the middle pedal so much!

Yup prob a bad earth... but where?!?!

check you havn't got a live wire running behind the brake peddel as well, i'd check the rear lights first, make sure the contacts are clean and theres no rust or water in/on the circuit board
