Water leak

Can anyone help with this please?
I have a Transit Mk3(1989) ex ambulance V6 petrol engine. Water is getting into the air filter. I suppose it has to be rainwater but I cant see where its getting in, unless its running down windscreen and under bonnet. Anyone had this problem before and if so whats the problem?

I assume its a 3ltr carb v6 if your getting water onto the air housing the bonnet sealing strip could be missing or disslodged.if you got a 2.9v6 which is fuel injected the water could be coming from the same place but further to the left.

Hi Jay,
Thanks for your help. I cannot see a sealing strip attached to the bonnet, only a rubber channel under the bonnet and attached to the bulkhead. Is it that you mean?

the strip i mean is not on the bonnet.but on the bulkhead where the bonnet closes.this is the bit where the rubber is meant to go.but if its rotten as in this van the the water goes under the rubber and gets into the engine air filter.if you look in the centre of the pic you will see the rust hole on the rail.

the rubber goes below the black plastic piece one side to the other.sorry about the pic but its raining and dark outside
