MK7 rough idle and non start after a long drive.

Postby caveman178355 » Tue Nov 12, 2019 5:12 pm

I've posted about this issue before but am at the end of my tether at this point - a quick rundown of the issue and whats been done.

MK7 2.4 RWD, idles quite roughly and after a 20 min drive won't start straight back up.
With regards to error codes I have these in IDS:
Fault is currently present
P251A
Fault previously detected, not currently present
B109F
U0100
U0155
U0140
P0200
P068A
No valid status available
U0073

In September I had the timing chain replaced/fixed, as it had been done poorly before, I also replaced the EGR and inlet manifold (garage reckoned it was cracked). I did a PCM update with IDS 115.01 the other day and lastly had 2 injectors replaced back in April.

Have tried an injector test with IDS but am not certain what I'm looking for - the results are here - https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZAMBbXUYTzcagArp6

My plan is to start with replacing the PRV and family -https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-TRANSIT ... 2759508246 - and then to move onto replacing/refurbishing injectors.

Any advice is more than welcome!

Leak off test on injectors, (4mins at idle 20-40 ml) replace any that leak to badly, then SCV & PRV, do the learns and reset counters see how you go.

This sort of kit for the test kit - http://shorturl.at/gpyX8 ? and do you mean test the SCV and PRV or test them?

If you use those parts, you'll more than likely be doing it again....they're too cheap to be genuine.....59 quid for SCV, PRV and pressure sensor, just doesn't sound right. We've had all sorts of drama with non-genuine items failing to pass the learns procedure.

Leave the pressure sensor, the genuine original ones rarely fail. PF Jones is a good place to purchase the SCV and PRV.

After doing the injector leak-off test and if they prove ok, reset the PRV counters then do pump, pilot and injector learns.

Linky no workie

And a second call for avoiding the eBay valves & don't touch the original pressure sensor.
Call up PFJones to be sure they're good. Both valves less than £90 delivered last time I got a set.

Not sure why the link doesn't work for you, it does for me! but try thishttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FUEL-RETURN- ... 3230073240?

And noted about those parts, Thanks!

Couldn't say for sure if that'd fit but sounds like it. It would rule out any risk of cracks in the original connections.
Though you could just get a reseal kit? Like this, would give you some spares too,https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3676149618
Double check it will fit yours, I just linked the first one that sounded right
