problem with seat swap

Postby 1robbie » Wed Nov 13, 2019 3:05 pm

After looking on here I decided to swap my front drivers seat and passenger bench seats for galaxy swivel seats which everyone says is a direct swap . It's not at all a direct swap . The seat rails on the galaxy seats I have are 1 1/2 inches narrower than the rails on the base I bought as well as the base on the drivers seat . There is also nowhere to attach the seat belt fixing point on the passenger side galaxy seat . Has anyone else run into this and maybe has a solution .
I cannot figure out how so many posts about these seats are giving out the wrong information .

Are the rails above or below the swivel plate??

I never did in a previous question you posed about this.

All the front passenger Galaxy seats I've seen come with it already bolted to the seat, much like the Transit driver's seat.

Sorry guess I should have said nearly all .

The seat belt buckle or whatever it's called is already on the seat but the seat belt also has an attachment that fixes to the opposite side of the seat . At least that's where it was on the old bench seat I took out .
It needs that or the belt would only function like a shoulder belt with no lap belt . And of course it would never pass an MOT .

Where does it bolt on the drivers seat.... Its just too easy to message for help , use your brain fella get the auld grey matter working instead of blaming others about your seat not fitting, as for the seat runner significance.....really....if they're above the plate then who cares where the transit runners bolt on as it'll be the plate and not the runners thats getting bolted to the box, if its under the plate then can you not just drill new holes, if runners are to short then by a couple of bits of flat bar iron, bolt them across the base then drill holes for your runners to bolt on jobs done, bolt seatbelt to the nearside rear bolt hole on seat base
