Mk8 power windows not working from drivers double switch

Hiya guys, my power windows on the drivers side won't operate either window but the passenger side works fine, I checked the wiring between the drivers door and found one broken wire but that was my mirror indicator sorted now I took the drivers double switch out sprayed WD40 in both connectors but that was wishful thinking! So I tested the bigger block and there's power going to the switch BUT its clicking as if it has a connection but nothing so any help would be appreciated. Im hoping its just needing a new double switch.

Put a new switch in and still nothing on both drivers side but the passenger one works from that side, what next? Anyone

I had exact same and found pins in connector between pillar and door had corroded from water ingress. Tiny pins so be careful pulling connector apart. I ended up replacing whole loom in the drivers door as it had been bodge fixed by a previous owner and was a mess.

Great thanks very much for your help, so does the wiring loom clip out between the pillar frame and the door? So its just a short loom? As I said o already had a broken wire which had been repaired but that was the drivers mirror indicator, I couldn't see any other broken black wires. I was just about to go out and take the door card off incase the motor had to be replaced so thanks for saving me wasting time on that.

Yes, just the short loom in the door. Wasn't cheap, £80 from memory 2nd hand. I think the wires they used are pretty poor quality for them to break this early.

Yeah the more I look into it that seems to be what others say really poor quality, im getting power on the switch so it can't be the loom any suggestions. Thanks again

Have you checked fuse F35, 5amp in the fuse box in front of your left knee in the cab ?

F46 30A is also power windows but if passenger side works that should be ok,whereas the fuse above will stop drivers side working...

I checked every fuse and they are all good but I read somewhere it could be the relay? I've also found a guy that will refurb the door loom for £40 and as there has already been a botched job on the mirror indicator I was thinking it might still be a broken wire thats just not showing. I never realised just how often I used the window until it stopped working.

Turned out to be the wiring loom between the drivers door so all sorted, thanks again for everyone's input
