Mk 6 Flashing Ignition Light post Clutch/Flywheel change

Postby kosovokiwi » Sun Oct 17, 2021 2:17 am

Changed clutch, flywheel. 2001 2.4 Duratorq. Van starts, ignition light extinguishes as per normal. After 10+ seconds ignition light starts flashing about a second on, second off. When alternator failed a few years ago, light came on constantly and alternator was replaced. Worked fine till clutch/flywheel change. A lead/bonding strap not reconnected?

Check the crank position sensor for sync with cam.

The wiring loom may have got pinched when the gearbox was refitted, and it is possible to confuse the speedo and CPS sender connectors as they are the same - speedo is the 1 at the end of the flying lead, CPS branches out of lead.
