How do i fit a reversing horn?

Postby Hedgie » Thu Jan 27, 2022 11:20 pm

Just bought a 12v reversing warning beeper with 2 terminals on it. How do I wire this into the minibus ? Came with no instructions

Straight into the reverse light wiring should work.

My mk8 minibus had a rev horn fitted by the leasing company before I got it and it was just soldered into the reversing light wiring but I extended the earth wire into the cab and put it on a switch so I could turn it off as sometimes I reverse out of the drive after 10 pm and before 6 am and not wanting to upset the neighbours and unless the uk traffic law has been changed it has be turned off at that time .

If it’s normal wiring on the he van
The other way is live into reverse live wire
Then the earth put to the live on the rear side lights with so in reverse it will work
Then in dark hours you put your lights on and it stops the reverse alarm working if
That’s any better for you
