lift pump obsolete for VH Transit van

Postby Geoff B » Tue May 24, 2022 10:04 am

The lift pump has stopped working on a VH van year 2000 the lift pump is electric also filter body is leaking thus letting in air. I cannot hear pump start or run at all. Fords informed me that these parts are obsolete. so can somebody help me to stay on the road?

This is what we call a Mk6 in the UK (so I believe!), there is no lift pump on these, unless for some reason, your Aussie vans are different :?

Didn’t the early mk6 120ps have the lift pump shown? Think it was only a 2 year thing.

As the rest of the mk6’s didn’t have the lift pump surely you could fit a new filter housing that doesn’t have the lift pump and the van should work.

PS is a sort of metric horse power, about 2% less than normal horse power.

so your transits engine power is 120 metric ps

All mk6 are duratorq engines, yours will be a tddi 120ps possible, it should say on the front doors 120t350 or something like that the first number is ps I.e 75, 95, 110 ect and the T is max gross weight I.e 280, 300,330 or 350.

Nearly all mk6’s didn’t have lift pumps.

Hope that helps.

As mentioned by the other lads..."ALL" Mk6 and Mk7 diesel engines are "Duratorq", not duro tork.

The early 120/125 Mk6's had the lift pump on the fuel filter assembly. So I'm guessing you have a 2.4 RWD 120/125PS. You will have a VP-44 fuel pump.

As our Ned mentioned....You can actually fit a filter assembly from another Mk6 (without the lift pump) and it should run fine. It was deleted on the later models. Some even had a hand operated primer pump on top of the filter housing.
