Engine coolant overtemperature!!!

Postby sgkfu » Thu Jun 02, 2022 8:06 pm

Engine coolant overtemperature message appears when driving on dual carriageway at 2k rpm.
Temperature at 120 degrees!!!
It's new engine replaced 2 months ago.
No symptoms like this when driving on less rpm or in the city.
Tourneo Custom 2.0 2019 130HP
Anybody knows what to do as first available appointment is in the middle of the month.
TIA

Don't drive it!, at that temperature serious damage will result - it will blow its head gasket and and warp the head.
if you have to drive it ...open your windows, put your heater on, accelerate gently and stop and let it cool down

normal engine temperature is between 75 and 105

That's assuming that the fault is overheating and not a faulty gauge / sensor and you could have already done damage ..or it's loosing coolant.

all the best.mark
