Are the new transits as bad as they say ?

Postby al k » Wed Aug 17, 2022 6:39 pm

After a long service I've decided to get rid of my 2007 MK7 crew .cab tipper. The problem I have is that after asking around and reading reviews, it seems that the ne shape transits are very problematic and unreliable. The garage that I use told me they had replaced the engines on 3 new model transits in the last 2 months and one of those had only 30'000 miles on the clock and was just out of warranty. Another respectable garage nearby has now says that they wont work on the new models anymore.

My dilemma now is what to replace my van with.

I'd like to know if any members on here have any input on the new Transit.

Thanks for any replies.

IMHO, the "new" Euro-6 wet belt engines are total rubbish.....everything in them is light weight and not made to last...so many failures of what should be a reliable engine.

Isn’t the 2.0 e6 a Peugeot engine? If so it’s not just transit that suffer.

I don't think it is, it's designed and built in the Ford engine plant :?

Currently, the most important thing for Ford is not the reliability of the van, but its politically correct ecological performance. On this altar, Ford sacrificed the Transit legend as the most reliable van ever.
This is a technical massacre...
