Cam belt

I own a 2019 ford transit which I brought new,took it in for a service at a independent Ford dealer and he told me my wet cam belt is shredding (rubber in the oil).the vehicle has only done 18500 miles from new .should this be covered under warranty and should Ford pay for a replacement?

There was a recall for this problem, Was your van built before first of July 2019?
some folks have had their engines go and managed to get Ford to cover it, and if its only done 18,500 miles then I would expect it to be covered

Been in touch with local ford dealer and they told me it wasn't on the recall list. I've only just got it back from them having a injector replaced, they contributed 60% towards that. All the Injectors were replaced under a recall at 9000miles.

Some people have been told its not on the list by ford garages, and managed to get somewhere by going to Ford direct if their build date was before 1st July 2019, and besides if the belt is shredding rubber at your mileage then its not fit for purpose (and they know this!) so get on the phone and push them.
