gearbox oil

Postby CLL » Mon May 29, 2023 7:37 pm

Time to change gearbox oil... looking at an old post on here (which of course somehow I can't find now) it said most models took WSD-M2C200-C. There was also the VMT-6, which takes 200-D2, but it said this was front wheel drive.
I have a 2013 2.2 RWD, so I thought...I obviously need the 200-C.
I then go on to Opie oils, put in my reg etc, look up gearbox oil, and.......it gives me 2 different oils...both 200-D2.
Is the post wrong and I need 200-D2? Or is Opie oils wrong and I need 200-C?

Any help greatly appreciated.

If yours is a 6 speed, which I suspect it is being a Euro-5....it'll be a variant of the MT-82 gearbox, the Ford spec WSD-M2C200-C oil is nothing special and any good quality 75W80 synthetic gear oil will work fine. I've been running Redline synthetic 75W80 in my MT-82 for several years without issue.

Cheers Knobby. Yes, 6 speed. I'll just go for putting a decent fully synth 75 in.
I had a look at other sites online and put my reg in to see what came up. Interesting that they ALL said FE 75w, WSS-M2C200-D2.

Should be, the gearbox is the same as the Mk7 RWD 6 speed, a variant of the MT-82.
