Good Evening all. It’s been a real pleasure to read all you posts and took many tips.

I have an issue I’m hoping one of you will know about.

My van is 1/2 converted and failed it’s MOT today. It also my work vehicle so I’m really stuck.

The diagnostic fault code is U0401 and U0422

Body Control Module

I have already replaced the EGR valve, all 4 glow plugs and a new rear abs speed sensors loom.

My traction control light is now on also.

Ive removed the BCM and it was loose behind the dash panel????

Any help or ideas would be really appreciated

Many thanks

What reader did you use to get the codes? Many generic units don't have full comparability with Transit protocols, Ford IDS or Forscan will give details of each code - not that they are overly helpful on occasion.

'U' codes are 'not compatable' or not correctly coded units usually.

I have a Forsan diagnostic on my laptop with a hard wired adapter.

The MOT Station has a AUTEL Diagnostic tool and gave the same fault codes.

TBH its driving me nuts as today ive been online with an online technician, eliminated battery issues and brake fluid levels.

Ive also removed the glow plug loom and checked it for continuity all ok, cleaned the terminals and re installed but still no change in the fault codes.

I really just need the ABS/traction code sorting as this is the MOT fail and i need my van for work!!!

Today i unplugged the right rear abs sensor on the new loom i fitted before the issue started and as normal the forscan picked this up

i reset the codes and then proceeded to unplug the left rear abs speed sensor. this time the forscan reported a PCM loss of connection !!!

This plug was the offending one with a broken wire hence me fitting a new loom, this cant be a coincidence ?

I plugged it back in and now can't get the forscan to show a PCM loss of connection??
