Hello all,
First time posting , il be as accurate as I can
It's for a UK 2016 transit custom swb diesel manual (basic/base spec) just a loading/cargo area in the rear,
The issue :
Upon starting the transit immediately faced with notification on the speedo display, that rear left passneger door open, have tried cleaning the 3 pin contacts and contact plate, and I've even replaced the plunger switch incase it was bad, no improvement
All doors appear to lock and unlock fine
I am on a very basic level somewhat competent with a multi meter, I've metered the terminal on the plunger switch(plug removed from switch). It's reads 0v with door open(plunger switch not pressed in. With switch pressed in manually. I get around 1.57v.
I used my delphi diagnostic software to scan for codes/faults, it came up with rear left door lock- current too low(which made sense seeing 1.57v only I guess) fault code was B1356
I'm not sure thses readings are normal, shpuld the wires im metering above read 12v or there about with switch not pressed (as they also activate loading area lights?) Is this why the door is being seen as open ?
I belive I've traced the solid green wire from the plunger switch to the bcm under the steering wheel, and when I meter the wire there I'm getting around 11.3v.
I've also tried to trace the other wire on the plunger switch( black wire with grey stripe) the only one I can trace upto the bcm look like its attached to a plug attached to the brake pedal!(it may not be the correct wire I've traced!)
I have gone a as far as running a separate green wire from bcm to the plunger switch to see of it works but to no avail so far.
The other weird thing is the front passenger door doesn't even register on the speedo display as open or closed and it also doesn't active the front dome light ,the drivers door does..again is this normal ?
I've been tinkering with it for a few weeks now
If anyone could offer any guidance or advice it woukd be greatly appreciated as the chime is driving me nuts! ...
Please feel free to ask for more information if I've not provided enough or the wrong information.
Thank you all in advance
