Does anyone know of a decent transit custom mechanic in Lincolnshire.
I have 2018 2.0 custom 37k miles with full Ford history, that will not start
It cranks, good rail pressure, no error codes, belt inspected through oil filler, looks new and no missing teeth, if it had slipped surely it would throw up a code from cam or crank sensor, but no codes at all.
So I am at a loss, I’ve done all I can to test with Forscan.
Need a Transit guru now I think, will be going into Fords if I can’t find one

Ford themselves said my belt ‘looked ok’ just before it lost all braking and went into self destruct mode.
Without starting it you won’t know if this van (which I assume is the crash repair you’ve posted about previously) lost it’s brakes due to belt degradation and resulted in the accident.
I’d be checking the vac pump (mine had literally sheared internally) and removing the sump to access oil pick up. This will tell you if it’s belt related and cost less than disappearing down a diagnostic rabbit hole.
It may be something more innocent like a broken or bad connection but best to rule out a new engine before throwing money at tracing possible wiring issues, any custom not starting but cranking screams vacuum failure to me.

Yeah I was going to check the vac pump to see if it’s broke, you never know the crash may have been a result of no brakes, but it’s not always the case. I’m just certain that if the belt had slipped surely the would be a code come up which has been confirmed by someone else. But like you say it’s a fairly quick and easy task to rule it out
