Mk 7 euro 5 2.2 glow plug torque setting

Postby iansjoey » Mon Nov 20, 2023 8:25 am

Good morning all
Seems quite a difficult one this one as I’m reading lots of different torque settings for these glow plugs
Does any one actually know exactly what the torque setting is for these please and where your information has come from
Many thanks in advance

I believe they're 13nm or a tad over 9.5lb-ft...(straight out of the manual). I'd be using a small amount of antiseize compound or copperslip on the threads.

Interesting...the pic above is straight out of the Ford manual. Although the Euro-4 and Euro-5 glow plugs are different....might be the difference.

Torque - Maxda has 15 to 19 Nm for the gplugs.
The torque used depends on the bolt metal grade and that which it is going into.
M10 is shown on a chart as 18 to 83 Nm but there's no info' re bolt metal grade nor the material that it is going into.
There's different grades for aluminium - the aluminium Transit head glow plug is llikely to be 13 to 19 Nm.
The torques given are for a dry thread.
Lot of confusing info' on the net.

Was DRRB 74 KW 100 HP 100 cv. Now CYR5 125 HP. PCM could still be for 100 HP.
