Tuning 70PS Mk5 Diesel

Postby Aragorn » Wed Dec 07, 2005 2:43 pm

Hi there, ive currently got a 1995 mk5 transit 2.5Di with the 70PS engine

ive noticed that there is also a non-turbo 90ps 2.5di engine and was wondering how similar they are? Is it possible to tweak the injector pump to raise the engine to the 90PS mark? or are there other internal differences like camshaft for instance? if there are no internal differences i can only imagine its either fixable by the adjustment of some kinda fuelling screw or perhaps by advancing the timing on the pump itself?

if it is possible a short description of whats required would be ace

cheers

hrm so it does, ive just checked my autodata manual :( seem to recall the haynes mentioning the 90ps engine so i'll need to check that out

i guess fitting the turbo derv isnt as easy as fitting the pump and charger? the motors internals will be different?
