I’ve changed the engine but cutting out at 12000rpm

Hi all,

I have a Mk7 2.4 RWD diesel mini bus, engine code PHFA. I’ve changed the engine to one with the came code, put the original injectors in it to run with the original ECU. It won’t start off the key but will start with easy start and runs if kept above 12000rpm.

Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Cheers

I doubt very much she's doing 12,000rpm. Sounds like you may have air ingress, is the fuel filter full after sitting for several hours or overnight..??

Were the injectors refitted into their original cylinders..?? Were the learns done after fitting the new engine..??

Checking the fuel filter and fuel lines in the morning, didn’t have a chance to do that today, marked the injectors when removing and refitted back in to the same cylinders. Can’t do the learns because the engine won’t run at tick over. I was thinking it might be air ingress, I’ll check it all tomorrow and hopefully have more answers. Cheers

Crank and cam sensor sync ok?? Make sure crank /flywheel sensor in far enough
