What do we think the fault causing this noise is?

Postby Abbadon » Tue May 21, 2024 3:19 pm

A noise, internittent, most common when driving after car has sat and everything is "cold". Smaller clicky/clunks are audible when you have driven a bit. Have limited time to diagnose, supposed to be driving my family to the airport next week, so this is really non ideal timing.

I have uploaded a video where I captured the worst the noise gets.

After I drove a few minutes, it doesnt re occur, but i expect when cold it will again. One place thought cv joint, and that area is getting warm on back of that hug/cv boot area. But another doesn't think this is a CV noise!

microphone is either distorting it really badly ..or it sounds like the exhaust leaking.

It's definitely not exhaust, it's metallic crunch/creaky/god awful noise.

No, it's much stronger than just a rattling shield, it's really load and nasty noise.

Does it dissappear in the wet??
Could be a dry creaking /worn ball joint
