Transit MK 7
I'm in France, 500 miles from the ferry terminal at Roscoff. Trouble with an injector - maybe.
I noticed a slight whiff of diesel when I switch the engine off a couple of times. Then I started getting a whistle alarm sound when I turned the ignition key, which went off when the engine started. The engine seems to run as normal. However I checked thew OBD codes with a scanner and got P02A9 - cylinder 4 injector leaking. This morning I cleared the code (this was the only error showing) and did a run of 3 miles or so. No OBD error codes showing.
I'm scared of garage prices here in France, and I have probably all the tools I'm likely to need. I'm afraid that if I ignore it and hope for the best, I might have problems getting back - which would put me over the 90 day limit - I'd either be fined and have problems getting back into France again, or I'd have to leave the van, travel back to the UK, go to London or Manchester for a visa (£100) and come back to France to fix it.
What would you suggest? Think I'd make it back? Or are there some simple tests I could try before decided I need a new injector(s), or maybe just seals?
John
