Postby luszim » Sat Jun 08, 2024 5:55 pm

Hi All I have a Ford Transit 2006 TDI 2.4 and have to redo the engine I have been looking for a set of standard pistons. I have looked at Transit parts and they only have oversize. please could someone advise me of any reputable suppliers who might have a set.

Thansk and help would be appreciated

i don't know what the block difference is between the tdci and the tddi

if they are the same then there are plenty of new tdci standard pistons on ebay most by TPUK ..who are saying the manufacturer is ford and Federal-Mogul at the same time.

BTW ..i cant check this out, as both sites "cat car info" and "zap ford"
both have a "Crankshaft, Pistons And Flywheel" section on this engine ...that only shows the flywheel, nothing else!

looks like ford don't want to sell pistons and crankshafts - only short motors

Hi Mark thanks for the reply, I have got hold of TPUK and even though they list the standard pistons they have not had stock for about 2, months now just the over size

Assuming your bores are still in good condition..?? It might be prudent to go for the oversize option...standard size pistons & rings are hard to get and cost nearly twice as much as the next oversize ones. You'll obviously need to get the bores re-bored to suit though.
