Dave Deeda wrote:So..I have sorted out Forscan and run it and came up with some codes..I managed to delete all but one, which is p1665, which apparently associated with the Fuel injectors. Because of what happened leading to it, which was an electrician bridging a headlight relay to try and fix headlights not working; rather than thinking it's mechanical, Im thinking it's an issue of current not getting through somewhere, ie a short.
There seems to be current getting to the ecu ok.The van turns over, will not start.Glow plug light still flashes.is there a straightforward way to see if current is getting to the diesel pump and injectors, because the pump is quite inaccessible ?
Also I have read on another thread somewhere..is there some sort of ecu specifically attached to the diesel pump ? Or maybe I'm getting confused.
This has been going on at least a month, any more help greatly appreciated,
Thanks
Dave

P1665 is a failing pump EDC, not injectors. Your injectors are mechanical...so they won't have any current going to them.

Thanks, do I need a whole new pump, or just the EDC ?it's on a Ldv with 2.4 Transit, I think it's the VP30..and is it attached to the pump ?
Cheers

The EDC can be repaired....there's people on fleabay who do them....they often blow a mofset on the circuit board inside the EDC box.

Many people just fit a new or reconditioned pump and be done with it....but it's much more expensive than getting the EDC repaired.

What code reader are you using..?? P1665 is a loss of communication with the EDC...could just be a poorly connection/wiring, (worth checking)....or the circuit board inside the EDC may be faulty leading to lost communication.
