MK7 DTC P037D:29-2F Glow Plug Sense Circuit

Postby Coley3159 » Wed Jul 17, 2024 7:43 pm

Hi all,

Recently invested in Forscan and plugged in to my 2011 MK7 2.4 RWD Transit to see what DTCs are present.

The only DTC that is reoccurring is P037D:29-2F Glow Plug Sense Circuit which makes sense as the van was taking a while to start in the winter.

Firstly I checked the glow plug fuses in the engine bay, F15 60A & F27 7.5A both of which were fine.

Next I swapped the R2 Glow plug relay for a new one and the DTC is still present.

Can anyone point me in the direction of what to look at next?

Many thanks.

Am i correct in thinking that there isnt any other tools in Forscan to diagnose a glow plug issue as all 4 glow plugs are connected in series on the main fused bus bar?

If so i guess my next steps would be:

- Check the wiring harness up to the fused bus bar for any damage
- Check the connection between the harness and fused bus bar is getting 12v when iginition is switched on
- Check the fused bus bar to see if it been blown by a glow plug thats shorted
- Check the continuity of each glow plug is between 0.1 - 6 ohms to determine if they are damaged

Am i missing anything i can try before commiting to replacing the glow plugs?

Cheers.
