MK7 Transit wont start after small amount of work

Postby CornerwaysUK » Mon Aug 12, 2024 2:07 pm

Hi All,
My Luton transit van (MM13JZT) went in for MOT recently and needed 3 x drop links and a couple of bulbs replacing and 2 x tyres. Decided to do the work myself. Jacked the van up and removed offside front wheel to change the front drop link and lay under the van to do the rear drop links. The bulbs were number plate light and side marker light. On checking the side marker light I blew the fuse..... Not knowing where it was I opened the bonnet and went through all the fuses there which I removed and checked. All in order. Bonnet dropped shut bit harder than usual as i just let it go. I then went on the internet and found out its fuse 79 behind the glove box. Fuse replaced lights fixed. Now the van wont start! No problems previously other than immobiliser when I changed battery in the key, this was sorted by disarming the immobiliser so no remote locking.
I removed both batteries and charged them up and my code reader says crash detected, a quick look online revealed the crash reset switch next to the glove box which I pressed and it felt like it reset. Alas the van still wont start and code reader still has the code which wont be deleted.
I can only think its something to do with the immobiliser if I removed the fuse etc but to be honest don't really know.
Any advice or help would be really grateful, need to get it retested. Thanks in anticipation

all i can think of to get "RESET" ..is disconnect batteries for 30 mins - turn on lights. .. then reconnect them ..and see what happens.

all the best.mark
