EGR P0404 ISSUE STILL AFTER NEW EGR INSTALLED 2.2 07 MK7 FWD

Postby Transit_driver » Tue Jul 30, 2024 1:56 pm

Hi all,

2006 Ford Transit 2.2TDCi FWD 5SP QVFA

I have been hunting the forum and the internet but can't quite narrow down my issue. I replaced my EGR and took apart the old one which seemed in pretty good nick it wasn't very old however I'm still getting a light on the dash for the EGR.

It appears that the EGRVR just goes 0-100 over and over on the new one and it happened on the old one also. I'll attach video if possible.

Any info on where to look would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like you may have a wiring issue rathe than a mechanical one.

I thought as much, any chance you may know where I can find a pin out to trace the cables in the EGR plug back ?

Some of the Mk7 wiring plugs have "all black" wires in them... pain in the ar$e trying to trace them...

Can't help with a wiring pinout I'm afraid.

Just visually check each wire from plug back to main loom as that's where most breaks happen

I looked through the loom didn't find anything broken.

Could it be from using the incorrect EGR?

Came across this bit of info regarding 2 different types from this website https://triscan.dk/en/be-careful-egr-va ... -and-boxer
Screenshots attached.

The EGR I installed was part number BK2Q9D475CB which is equivalent of the 8813 16150

Could it be that I need the 8813 16036 equivalent of the 9C1Q9D475AB ?

Looking at the pin findings I'm thinking this could be a possibility?

If it's like the 2.2 custom, the egr signal wires will be shared with the turbo actuator. So worth having a look at that too.

turns out it was the incorrect EGR valve, I replaced the one that was there and it turns out the mechanics who did it last put the wrong one in. I had it blanked so didn't worry about the light but time to sell so wanted to fix.
Thank you all for your responses!
