Think there is a weak link ..if any of the glow plugs fail, in the way of going to ground, this link burns through, think you are supposed to buy the whole wire that links all of them ..but people have soldered a 60 amp fuse in place. where the break is.

The only reference i can find on ebay for a new wire is to use the word "wire" ..not loom.

so your search is:

transit mk7 glowplug wire

There are two brand new glow plug wires on there that are genuine ford, just over £60 ..both have different part numbers ..that's something you are going to have to figure out yourself.

Then test each glow plug before you fit it , to see which one needs replacing ..i hear that it does not actually need the glow plugs to start ..and they are there to stop it smoking on start up, and make it run smoother on start up. that's unless its minus conditions then they will be needed.

TRANSIT MK7 2013

i located the big aluminiUm relay behind the headlamp and followed the wires from the relay down to the top of the engine where it connects to the loom part

Glow Plug Control Unit fits FORD TRANSIT 2.2D 2007 on ECU Hella 1719477

i put a bulb type tester on each of the 4 wires

3 of the wires did show the bulb lite up

the last one did not light up

if the power to that connection is coming from the relay

should all 4 light up if the relay is working correctly ?

i think the one which did not light up was like a yellow wire with a blue line on it the end one

it would be so much easier to swap the relay :D :D

many thanks

The issue is likely not with the glow plugs themselves but with the glow plug control module/relay, wiring, or fuses. Start by checking the control module/relay, inspect the wiring for damage, test the glow plugs' resistance with a multimeter, and check the fuses. The P037D code may also indicate an issue with the feedback circuit. Focus on common points affecting all plugs, like the control module and wiring.

well here is the update to my original question

after taking out the glow plugs to investigate the error codes

3 glow plugs when tested were dead
1 glow plug when tested absolutely popped like a firework

so i replaced all 4 glow plugs

i also got a new loom from ford which was £60

and a brand new glow plug relay £60

fitted it all turned the key and started like a dream

checked with the scanner and all was good

took the van for a 10 mile drive 4th gear at 55mph to try and see if it would do a regen

no smoke no rattles

got back re scanned it - all good

I'm curious what the labour for the glow plug replacement cost you.

Mine is in the shop today to have all 5 replaced.
