What's the most reliable engine?

Postby Stellify » Tue Dec 17, 2024 4:51 am

Hello. I'm looking at several cargo van jobs and a vast majority of them have a 15-20year age limit on vehicles, which is think is bs if you're not hauling people, animals, or food. As a result of those dumb age limits, I can't purchase a pre-emission diesel van like a sprinter or 7.3 powerstroke econoline. Don't want to deal with dpf issues. I'm looking for a van that's fuel efficient and reliable (that gets at least 20mpg on the hwy) i heard a lot of good things about the 2.7 ecoboost but am very disappointed to find out if wasn't available on transits. Which transit engines are most reliable?

Euro-4 2.4 engines are the best IMHO...closely followed by the 2.2 Euro-4....unfortunately they are at least 13 years old now as they finished production on Sept 26th of 2011.
