BLIS/X-traffic malfunciton 2021 Custom Sport

Postby simon varley » Thu Jan 02, 2025 8:32 am

happy new year everyone! Looking for a bit of help please, as the local dealership hasn't been much use (surprise!)

a couple of months ago I started to get intermittent BLIS and cross-traffic malfunction error messages pop up. These subsequently became persistent and now occur on every engine start. MIL light is on the dash, and Forscan reports DTC U0233 in both APIM and IPC. Clearly there's an issue

For Dealer looked at the software and connectors, but didn't get around to the clearly damaged wiring under the rear bumper, before telling me that underbody wiring damage would not be covered under warranty. At that point I told them not to bother! I will talk to CRC but don't hold out too much hope of them paying for this :(

So:
    1. has anyone else seen similar BLIS/cross traffic issues and had any luck fixing them?
    2. has anyone had success in a warranty claim for wiring damage under the car? My belief is that it's stones jumping up from the rear wheels
    3. can someone supply a wiring diagram and pin-out for the rear quarter?
    4. part numbers for the new loom(s) in that quarter?

thanks. Simon.

Looks like it may have been chewed by a rodent....pretty common apparently.

nah, in this case I'm pretty sure it's stones. I drive a lot on unsealed roads in Australia, and I had to pull a handful of gravel out before I took the picture. Pretty poor design as there is only tape protecting most of the wires, not conduit. I don't hold out much hope of Ford accepting it's a design issue though :(

Can't say I have had the same issue on my old 2008 machine...I do lots of dirt roads here in Brisvegas too.
