Starting problem

Hello everyone
I have an odd one my van used too start when key turned straight away
However it’s decided too delay this by 2-3 seconds as in turn the key it has a little think about it then decides ok let’s start it has also decided not too start at all some times
Brand new battery only 1 fitted under the seat I’ve swapped relays around in engine fuse box have ignition switch on order could it be the starter motor that’s failing
If anybody has had this or similar problem would they share how they resolved it please

Would really help if you told us what model Transit you have..?? Mk6 or Mk7..?? FWD or RWD..?? TDDi or TDCi..?? Euro-3, 4 or 5..??
