But no instructions, and after numerous attempts to sus it out I'm more confused than ever, has anyone fitted this A bar to a mk7? anyone know how it goes together? i'm sure its simply but any help much appreciated.

Brackets seem to bolt on here -

However when you lift up the bar to find the drilling point...hole seen here -

There is a 1"+ gap between the plastic bumper and the metal bumper behind, so the bolts are far to short to start with and even with fitting longer bolts the plastic part of the bumper is what will be taking the pressure/weight, which seems a pretty sh*** design, all in all its turning into somthing of a nightmare, my MK6 ones were just bolt and forget had them on in 20 mins or less no problem.

Thats a bit like the A bar fitted to my Ranger, bottom brackets do all the support work and there is a flimsy bracket that bolts on to the original number plate nuts (which are in the plastic bumper and does really support anything), been on there 2 years now and hasnt fallen off yet :)

Well after what it cost i'm goning to fit it regardless, just need a couple of longer bolts really, I'm just a bit pissed I have to get anything, its suppose to be supplied with a fitting kit ,looks to me that no one has ever actually ever tried fitting it to a transit :(

Its from ebay -http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Ford-Transit- ... 7C294%3A50

The bar is now fitted and it looks great. The problem is just not having any instructions and the fitting kit not bieng quite right otherwise a nice set of bars.

Thread is 16 years old now...

However, the person you're asking was on here on October 13th last year....but not since.
