Hello all!

Hope everyone is doing well!
First post here, I think this is in the correct place from what I was reading about new users.
I have a Transit 2016 which I have a problem with. As I turn the ignition, but not fully, the light come on as usual but the coil light and the engine light are flickering, and at the same time a relay is clicking. (It is the fuel pump relay I think).
If I turn the key fully to start it will turn over but not start. After a while of turning it on and off there will come a time when the coil and engine lights come on and stay a solid light, ie not flickering, and the relay clicking will stop. The engine then starts as normal. Sometimes it does after maybe a minute of idling when the flickering and clicking starts again, if there is no flickering then the engine sounds sweet.
I have changed the relay and it make no difference.

Once it is running it seems to be ok, maybe one blip while I was driving.
Would be great if anyone has any ideas on what this could be.
Thanks in advance!
Jeff

I moved your post from the welcome section, as it's unlikely to be read by most of the technical bods on here, however, my first thought is that you have a dodgy ignition switch, that's the part with the wires, mounted on the back of the ignition barrel.
Worth a try, they're not to expensive, and easy to do yourself 8)

Yuip sounds like the ignition switch, cheap fix but definitely best place to start

Good evening!
Well I had the switch replaced, van was going in for MOT anyway.
The problem remains!
Right headlight failed on MOT, bulb works fine. Looks like it might be the control module for the light that might be the problem? My mechanic has heard that this control module also controls the immobiliser and that it can get water ingress, causing corrosion. This might be connected to the flickering coil and engine light?
At a bit of a loss with this one!
Thanks

Apologies, I mean the body control module, not just the headlight control module.

Water ingress into the modules is always a possibility, and also corrosion on the plugs into the modules, so it's worth unplugging and checking/cleaning the connectors.

Hello again,
Update: had the body control module replaced, this apparently fixed the light issue, BUT the flickering of the engine light and coil light still remains. When they are flickering the relay is clicking. At this point the van turns over when I turn the key, but doesn't start. Once the flickering stops, and the clicking relay stops at the same time, the van starts.
It got to the point where the van just didn't start at all because the flickering didn't stop.
At my wits end with this one as replacing the control module was not a cheap exercise !
Does anyone have any other ideas of what it could be?
Many thanks again,
Jeff

I think your nuts replacing the bcm unless it definitely had to be done. Did you try cleaning the connections and clearing the faults (reset bcm)?
Have a look at plugs near the bottom of the windscreen in eengine bay near ecu. I've got a carrier bag stuffed over mine as I kept having issues in the rain.
What is forscan telling you?
