Transit Mk7 2.2l FWD 2007, Can I do Learns after Remap

Postby El Grobboss » Tue Mar 18, 2025 6:03 pm

Hello all,

Just had new fuel filter, carbon clean, EGR delete, injector leak off test and 110bhp eco remap done on my 280 85ps MK7, all went successfully feels great, just 2 questions I have for some of you pros out there

1. Now that its remapped can I still do learn procedures on forscan as and when I need to or will that mess with it? Was planning to run pump and pilot learns this afternoon after having new fuel filter and egr deleted.

2. Slightly seperate issue but turbo sounds loud and rattly when engine is still cold if I boost, was like this before any of work done, any ideas? Ive heard actuator can cause rattling noise, only seems to be prominent when cold, obviously don't want that going BANG after so much work done to my trusty beast.

LMK

Thanks in advance

My Mk7 2008 RWD 140 has been remapped to ~170 and I always do the learns after I service the van....never had an issue. When doing the learns, Forscan doesn't know the PCM has been mapped.

The 85 only has a normal wastegate type turbo so it is strange the turbo is "rattling"...unless the wastegate itself is broken or loose.

Cheers lads

Thought that might the case will crack on with a set of learns tomorrow,

R.e the turbo , will investigate that further and report back may start a new thread, not causing any drivability issues just sounds concerning until warm, thought maybe when oil is warmed up and circulating properly its masking whatever is loose in there

Much obliged

Oil should be circulating almost instantly after starting the engine...within a second or two after starting....oil pressure is highest when engine is cold.
