2025 Transit MK9 and jack kit

Postby gfinlays » Tue Apr 29, 2025 7:54 pm

Hi All, I'm Graeme, and completely new to the forum. The Mrs and I were in the fortunate position after some years of saving up to buy a new transit-based motorhome which we picked up a couple of weeks ago. Lo and behold, there's no spare, just a poxy 12V tyre inflator and a bottle of schmoo hidden under the driver's seat. No way I'm venturing to remote places in the UK or Europe with that setup! So nearly 500 notes lighter of pocket, I now have a genuine Ford steel spare wheel with the same Conti Van Contact Eco tyre as the others on the van and a 1364164 Ford jack kit. There were a few shenanigans around buying the wheel. According to Ford, having been given the chassis number, the van has 5 bolt wheels. It took a full hand of digits plus an extra one from the other hand to count them, so definitely 6. The dealer eventually got them to ship the right one.

My question is does anyone know of the jack kit will fit under the driver's seat in place of the repair kit? It kinda looks like it might, though I assume some of the plastic trim will have to be removed to facilitate removal of the repair kit and fitting of the jack kit. Has anyone done this who can advise? TIA.
