The teflon plumbers tape is actually on the "left" injector feed pipe connection in your photo.....might be ok on plumbing fittings but not a good idea on Diesels running upwards of 1600bar (23,200psi) of fuel pressure, if any of that tape finds it's way to the injector internals...it can cause all sorts of dramas.

That fitting is actually part of the injector assembly...
