My Tranny has a stiffy....

Going up the alps, gearbox fine, no whines etc. But gear shift started getting stiff. Even to wiggle it in neutral. Let it cool for a bit, was better, then returned. Let it cool completely (1hr) and it was loose as it should be. Strange.

2.2 14 plate custom. Recent gearbox oil (as I put new flywheel etc in)

On mk7 where the selector shafts are exposed if you give them a good soaking with loose juice the some spray white grease used to sort this problem so probably worth a try with your custom
