Will Transit mk7 engine fit in mk8

Hi
I have a 2016 mk8 transit 2.2 euro 5 that has blown 2 reconditioned engines. I have a very low mileage 2010 mk7 2.4 6 speed that the body is rusted on. Is it possible to fit the engine from the mk7 2.4 into the mk8 2.2?
I will have both the vehicles beside each other so i can swap whatever bits i need. Has anyone done a similar engine swap and is there much modifications to do?

its the ecu and emissions stuff that will cause the bother, your ecu is set up for a 2.2 including the coded injector learns and probably pile of other stuff ..it will not be a strait swap.

Assuming both are RWD, it should be possible, you don't say if the 2.2 is RWD or FWD...but.... "everything engine and engine control" related from the donor Mk7 vehicle will have to go into the Mk8. "All" engine and dash looms, PCM, BCM and all the other modules. Exhaust will be totally different, the 2.4 won't have a DPF, the 2.2 will. The 2.4 will be Euro-4 and the 2.2 will be Euro-5.

I'ts doable but not just a simple engine swap job.

Being Euro-5 is the major cause...their fuel system leaves a lot to be desired....some are well known for torching pistons....and some last well..

Since it's in a Euro-5 Mk8....Doesn't it have to meet Euro-5 emissions requirements...?? The 2.4 will never do that and the 2.4 never had a DPF either.
