Injector restricted!

Postby Tomdye1 » Sat Jan 03, 2026 11:50 pm

Good evening!

My 2.4 120ps transit is playing up once again!

I had a small knock appear so sent all 4 injectors off for testing and 3 were a bit crap so replaced those 3 with recons.

I left the truck idling earlier whilst doing a recovery and once finished it had started to misfire.

I will attach an images of the codes below.

p02a8:00-2F - cylinder 4 restricted

p02a0:00-14 - cylinder 2 restricted

p0200:12-14 - injector circuit / open

I hadn’t had any issues like this before changing the injectors and now wish I had just left them alone!

If anyone has had similar issues they infinite knowledge would be great!

Assuming it's a Mk6 2.4..?? You don't actually say what model it is.

It can't have an "injector circuit / open" if it's a TDDi, they're mechanical injectors, not electronic.

What code reader did you use.??

Did you code in the recon injectors? if so then I would have a thorough check of the wiring to the injectors, you may have disturbed something.

No such animal as a 2.4 120ps Mk7....which is why I mentioned Mk6.

Can only be a 100, 115 or 140 if it is a 2.4 Mk7.

That's a bit better....Did the recon injectors come with new correction factor codes..?? If so, were the injectors coded and learns done after the injectors were fitted..??

It will never run properly until the learns are completed "successfully". Perfomance and fuel economy will suffer and she'll be a bit "noisy" with diesel knock.

All were recoded in to the correct cylinders but the injector pilot learn would not complete as the temperature was showing at 87 degrees and wouldn’t change, not sure if this could be caused by a faulty sensor

CHT sensor is in the rear of the cyl head, pig of a thing to get at. Not uncommon for them to fail.

Pretty sure you need to be in a certain range (CHT) for the learns process. I have the problem of keeping it cool enough.

Does the temp show low when the engine is cool/cold..?? And climb normally as the engine warms up..?? They normally sit ~90C-ish.
